Leaders in innovation, sustainability and heart-centred agri-business confirmed for E Tipu 2024

Since its inception in 2019, E Tipu has been at the forefront of fostering collaboration and innovation within Aotearoa's dynamic food and fibre landscape and this year’s summit will be no exception Here are the latest confirmed speakers for E Tipu 2024.

Ruth Leary, Head of Strategy & Engagement at AgriZeroNZ, is a driven advocate for sustainable agriculture and commercial innovation and is deeply committed to uplifting New Zealand's primary industries. AgriZeroNZ is a public-private partnership between the New Zealand Government and agribusiness committed to empowering farmers to mitigate agricultural emissions.

Ruth champions the convergence of science and commerce to pioneer real-world solutions that enhance agricultural sustainability and profitability. Her mission is to spotlight the invaluable contributions of Kiwi livestock farmers and catalyze initiatives that position New Zealand as a global leader in near-zero pasture-based farming.

Joining Ruth is Hōhepa Hawke's Bay CEO Santiago De Marco. Santiago has served as the CEO of Hōhepa for over two decades, overseeing a multifaceted ecosystem encompassing housing, education, and a myriad of vocational activities providing a sanctuary of support and opportunity for individuals with intellectual disabilities.

Santiago's influence extends beyond the borders of Hōhepa. He has vast experience networking in the international Steiner anthroposophical movement. His expertise transcends sectors, with experience in health, education, governance and management.

This week's final speaker announcement welcomes Enivo Pots founder Elisa Harley. Currently in her final year of high school in Pōneke Wellington, 17-year-old Elisa Harley is already pursuing her passion for business and kaitiakitanga. Her venture Enivo Pots supplies a range of biodegradable plant pots made from NZ forestry slash. 

As a sole-trader participating in the Lion Foundation Young Enterprise Scheme (YES), Elisa has found herself in meetings with commercial lawyers, patent attorneys, scientists, commercialisation strategists, procurement experts and more on her search for the solution to the millions of plastic plant pots produced each year in Aotearoa New Zealand.
