E Tipu 2021 welcomes diverse cross-section in first wave of guest speakers

Agricultural advancement has many origins, whether it be cell research in a lab, or the implementation of  innovative and improved practices on the whenua.

Held at Christchurch Town Hall on May 11–12, E Tipu 2021: The Boma NZ Agri Summit celebrates a multi-skilled and diverse range of expert leaders within the agritech, food and fibre sector as guest speakers.

Among these will be esteemed scientist and experienced start-up founder, Dr. Sandhya Sriram as well as kiwi farming hero and published author, Tangaroa Walker.

Dr Sandhya Sriram is the CEO and co-founder of Shiok Meats, Singapore’s first cell-based seafood firm that produces clean seafood such as shrimp, crab and lobster by harvesting from cells instead of animals.

As a stem cell scientist with over 10 years’ experience, Sandhya believes in the potential of translating biotech research into products as evidenced in her successful startups.

Tangaroa Walker is the founder of Farm 4 Life, as well as an award-winning farmer and published author on a mission to make farming knowledge accessible and straight forward for training farm workers and those with more experience alike. Whether he’s delivering calves, creating rosters or talking about mental health, he shares it all.

Tangaoroa’s first book, Farm For Life: Mahi, Mana and Life on the Land, has recently been published.
