Warren McNabb

Professor of Nutritional Sciences and leader, Sustainable Nutrition Initiative

 

Warren McNabb is a Professor of Nutritional Sciences and the leader of the Sustainable Nutrition Initiative, based at the Riddet Institute, one of New Zealand's Centres of Research Excellence (CoRE) hosted by Massey University. With over 30 years of experience in the field, Warren's research interests are focused on nutrition for health, sustainable nutrition, human-microbiome interactions, and physiology and metabolism. 

Prior to joining Massey University, Warren was the Research Director at AgResearch. He has played a significant role in establishing several important research initiatives in Aotearoa, including the Our Land and Water - Toitū te Whenua, Toiora te Wai, the New Zealand Food Safety Science and Research Centre, and the High Value Nutrition (HVN) National Science Challenge

Warren is a Fellow of the New Zealand Institute of Agricultural and Horticultural Sciences, and a professional member of the New Zealand Institute of Food Science and Technology, American Society of Nutrition, and the Canadian Nutrition Society. He has served on several national and international research advisory and funding panels. He has also supervised a significant number of PhD students and Postdoctoral Fellows, published over 200 peer-reviewed scientific papers and is highly cited with an h-index of 62 (Google Scholar).
