Pablo Gregorini

Professor, Lincoln University

 

Pablo Gregorini joined Lincoln University as Professor of Livestock Production in 2017, focusing on nutritional and behavioural management of grazing ruminants. His research emphasises environmental protection, animal welfare, human health  and production systems design. In April 2023, Pablo expanded his professorship to include Agricultural Systems, now holding the title of Lincoln University Professor of Livestock Production and Agricultural Systems. 

With over 200 peer-reviewed scientific journal articles and 5 international book chapters to his credit, Pablo is a respected authority in his field. He has edited three Special Issues in Nutritional Ecology of Foraging and Grazing Management and presented his work at over 200 professional research meetings and academic institutions worldwide. 

He is actively involved in professional organisations such as the Forum of the Pastoralist Knowledge Hub (FAO), American Society of Animal Science (ASAS), and American Forage and Grassland Council (AFGC). Pablo is also a board member and founding member of the International Scientific Committee for Animal Sourced Foods and Livestock: Ethics, Planet, and Health (ALEPH).

Pablo serves as an associate editor for 'Animal Production Science' and 'Grassland Science' journals and is on the editorial boards of several other prestigious publications.  Beyond his research in New Zealand, Pablo is engaged in global projects focusing on nutrition, foraging ecology, and grazing management of domesticated and wild ruminants. He is committed to exploring sustainability issues in agricultural systems and understanding the intricate connections between humans, herbivores, and the environment.
