E Tipu 2021 adds leaders in sustainability, research and entrepreneurship to powerhouse programme

E Tipu 2021: The Boma NZ Agri Summit welcomes guest speakers Lindy Nelson MNZM, Dr. Ian Yule and Melissa Clarke-Reynolds ONZM, adding to its powerhouse line up of speakers exploring the exponential changes facing Aotearoa’s primary sector.

Set for May 11–12 at Christchurch Town Hall, E Tipu 2021 is New Zealand’s pivotal agri event of the year, bringing together a world-class collective of leaders, guest speakers, exhibitors and like-minded attendees who are reshaping food and fibre.

Lindy Nelson MNZM is on a mission to amplify the connection between leadership, women, food and global sustainable goals.

In 2010 she founded the Agri-Women’s Development Trust (AWDT) and, as executive director, led the strategic and operational management of the trust and its activities, growing AWDT into an internationally recognised organisation. Lindy also launched the Amplifying Us podcast to herald women’s voices and initiatives around the food industry.

Dr Ian Yule is research director of PlantTech Research, a New Zealand-based research and development organisation specialising in addressing scientific challenges in New Zealand’s horticulture industry with cutting-edge artificial intelligence technology solutions that produce competitive advantage.

Ian also co-founded Hyperceptions, a data processing company analysing aerial hyperspectral imaging data to deliver agricultural insights, and is the founder of Stoneleigh Consulting which operates both within New Zealand and internationally.

Melissa Clark-Reynolds ONZM is a foresight practitioner and professional director with over 25 years’ experience as an entrepreneur and strategist.

She currently sits on the board of Atkins Ranch, and has previously sat as deputy chair of Radio NZ, a member of MPI’s Primary Growth Partnership Independent Advisory Panel and as the first independent director of Beef + Lamb New Zealand.

Melissa currently chairs Little Yellow Bird, which has recently moved into the circular economy, taking back any product it has made and remaking the used clothing back into fabric. She also delivers strategy and foresight advice with a number of organisations in the sector, including Kotahi, BioSecurityNZ and the Department of Conservation.
