Ruth Leary is a driven advocate for sustainable agriculture and commercial innovation and is deeply committed to uplifting New Zealand's primary industries. With a diverse background spanning senior commercial roles in prominent agribusinesses and export firms, Ruth now serves as the Head of Strategy & Engagement at AgriZeroNZ, a public-private partnership between the New Zealand Government and agribusiness committed to empowering farmers to mitigate agricultural emissions.

Ruth's impressive career trajectory encompasses dynamic roles such as Sales Director at Archer Daniels Midland (NYSE:ADM), Regional Sales Manager (APAC) at Lesaffre, and Director of Strategic Projects at Synlait. She’s also helped write a recipe book for Fisher & Paykel and worked in the technical brewing team at Lion.

Ruth champions the convergence of science and commerce to pioneer real-world solutions that enhance agricultural sustainability and profitability. Her mission is to spotlight the invaluable contributions of Kiwi livestock farmers and catalyze initiatives that position New Zealand as a global leader in near-zero pasture-based farming.

Ruth holds a Bachelor's degree in Food Science/Nutrition, a postgraduate qualification in Food Science, and a Master of Business Administration from Otago University, as well as a Diploma of Brewing. She remains grounded in her roots, drawing inspiration from her upbringing on a Beef, Sheep, and Deer farm. Her connection to the land and admiration for the tireless dedication of farmers fuel her commitment to the industry.
